Professor M. Lynne Markus is researching the development of data-sharing standards within industries, a project funded by the National Science Foundation. Her earlier research focused on the mortgage industry. Recently, she has turned her attention to the retail sector and the emergence of radio frequency identification (RFID) — a leading-edge technology that lowers costs but also raises significant privacy concerns.
