Prof. M. Lynne Markus,
the John W. Poduska, Sr. Professor of Information and Process Management and Senior Editor, MIS Quarterly Theory and Review Department

Professor M. Lynne Markus is researching the development of data-sharing standards within industries, a project funded by the National Science Foundation. Her earlier research focused on the mortgage industry. Recently, she has turned her attention to the retail sector and the emergence of radio frequency identification (RFID) — a leading-edge technology that lowers costs but also raises significant privacy concerns. In the November 19 issue of TIME, Prof. Markus is featured in an ad highlighting the issues surrounding the adoption of RFID in the retail environment. The ad invites readers to our special faculty website for a further “conversation” with Prof. Markus.
